You raise some very real points, Gabe, but it's not just living overseas that does this to you. Social media is so fake. Couples who are on the brink of divorce post such lovey dovey stuff on Instagram no one would believe it. I don't really get lonely or homesick when i travel but I'm only away for a few months at a time. I understand about sharing a house. My only private space is my bedroom so I've become quite a recluse.
