You can take this a sa compliment. I had no idea English wasn't your first language. And I can tell you that most writers under 30 probably don't know what a spliced comma is nor passive voice. I know all the rules. I have to, but I don't always use them when I'm writing on Medium. I'll use a sentence fragment when I want to, and since I'm an editor in almost every publication I write for, I can do what I want, within reason.
