Will I Ever Be Able To Do This Again?
I’ve been earning decent money on Medium for the past couple of months. Two or maybe three stories went viral. I’ve been really lucky. I knew I couldn’t keep it up so I thought I’d add the new tipping feature to my profile.
I thought I’d just add my PayPal account to the app. After giving the world my login details, I deleted it and put it back in the too-hard basket.
Today I received my surgeon’s fee for my surgery next week to be paid immediately. $5400! (Thank goodness for credit cards, otherwise, I’d really be up the creek without a leg to stand on.)
This includes his assistant but not the anaesthetist! I thought the gap would be around $500 but apparently, not for bilateral knee surgeries. Makes me think I might have been better getting them done separately. But then I’d have another anaesthetist’s fee and another stay in hospital. Damned if I do and damned if I don’t.
Keeley said she’d set up a Go Fund Me page, but I said to her I can’t very well ask people for money and then go tripping around the world when my knees are better!
