Is it just because I’m really tired and not feeling very well that I’m struggling to put words into sentences?

What does freedom mean to me? I have no idea. Financial freedom I suppose means being free of financial worries. That’s never going to happen to me — I spend more than I earn — but I don’t worry about it. I learned several years ago that in Australia, no one can kill you for owing them money. The banks don’t really care how much you owe because the more you owe, the more interest (and money) they make. They keep on offering me more money!

I’ve been talking about declaring bankruptcy several times in my life, but I’ve always managed to pay off the debts. One of my problems with money is I’m generous — too generous — with my credit card. There’s a lot of robbing Peter to pay Paul going on between my accounts.

Freedom of speech? Yeah, where’s that gone? I can’t say anything that could possibly be interpreted as being racist or sexist or whatever so I don’t have that freedom any more.

I do have freedom in my own house. I can sit outside or inside, I can go for a dip in the pool whenever I want (even at midnight. I can go to sleep whenever I need to or I can stay up every night. I get to choose if I want to go out, or stay home, if I…
