What do you think of the English Royal Family?

There was a time when I thought Australia could do without the Royal Family, but I’ve changed my mind. I loved the Queen, I loved Princess Diana even more, but I never liked Camilla Parker-Bowles nor Prince Charles (for his adultery). I thought the Crown would pass directly to William. Imagine if it went to Harry! Queen Meghan OMG Unthinkable…maybe she could play the role in a miniseries but I can never imagine her working as hard nor being as royal as our late Queen Elizabeth II.

I like Australia being part of the Commonwealth and not being a republic like the United (or not so United) States. I cannot imagine anything worse than being a republic and having a president like Trump. Don’t laugh. It could happen! We have just as many dickwads here waiting for a chance to out-trump Trump.

I think having the Monarchy is beneficial in keeping boisterous prime ministers under control. Imagine Tony Abbott as President — he was bad enough as Prime Minister. When he was Prime Minister, I hid my Australian citizenship when I travelled. He was an embarrassment.
