We used to always have an extended family get-together on Australia Day but in the last few years, our celebrations have been focussed around my Pakistani friend whose birthday happens to fall on Jan 26th. My eldest daughter calls it Invasion Day so we don't mention it's Australia Day anymore. Times have changed.
