We rented an apartment for a week in Riomaggiore and walked to Manarola. We couldn't walk any further because of the mud slides. Vernazza's main street was just mud and people were killed. This was November, 2011. We caught the train to Monterosso but it had been affected by the mud slides but not as badly as Vernazza. I'd love to go back.
