Travelling on the Trans-Siberian Railway from Vladivostok to Moscow has been a dream of mine for many years. My son travelled from Beijing to Moscow. I don’t know what class he booked but the heating in his cabin was non/existent and there were icicles forming on the metal in the compartment. He had every bit of clothing on including his fur hat but he looked miserable. After this, I’ve re-evaluated my dream. I met a couple of lovely Russians in my hostel in Moscow. One was from Siberia and the other was from the Urals. They both said Muscovites were different to the rest of the country.
