Today was not an ordinary day- I was invited on a breakfast date! He arrived in his “driving car” — a Mercedes SLK350 convertible. A bit of a shock as I was expecting a Mazda. His other car is a Mazda 4WD — to tow his boat. He sure likes his boys’ toys. I suggested Dayboro — a little place half an hour away. We sat under cool shady trees beside the creek to eat some unexceptional eggs on toast. Thankfully the coffee was better. Then off for a “relaxing” country drive through the mountains. I’m not a good passenger at the best of times, and I read aloud the advisory speed signs for cornering, and hung on tight! I like to speed — I have a collection of tickets to prove it — but only on straight roads. Happy to report that I survived unscathed.
