Thinking of you JoAnn. Being so gravely ill at the same time must have been awful. I can't think of a word strong enough. Believe me when I say the hardest part is over - making that decision to leave. You'll be moving forward with your life and leaving him to make his own decisions. You've been carrying the weight of his drinking for too long. Drinking and violence seem to go together and the excuse I was drunk doesn't mean much when you're injured. Not saying this happened to you but it was the final straw for me.
