Why UAE? Why not Uluru or Undara Lava Tubes or even Ulan Bator, Ukraine, Uruguay or Uganda? The truth is the UAE is the only place I can think I’ve been that starts with U. I mean surely there are others but I can’t think of them.

The only part of the UAE that I know is Dubai, but my son Rowan lives in Abu Dhabi so I may get there at some time.

On a flight from Brisbane to Dublin via Perth and Dubai, I thought it would be a good idea to have a stopover in Dubai and sleep for a couple of days so I wouldn’t arrive in Dublin like a drowned rat. ( I was flying cattle class so sleep on the flight was minimal.)
