Sounds a little like a mystery shopper job I had once. I hated it. It was poorly paid for the amount of hours you had to put into it and I felt sorry for the salesperson. They thought I really wanted to buy a new fridge. My daughter did the same job but she had to be “ buying” a new car. A Porsche from memory. She had to hide her old Mazda around the corner so they didn’t suspect her. She did get to test drive it though.
