On both of my visits to Athens I stayed in the Monasteraki area. Gyros are a cheap delicious alternative to eating out. The funny thing is I never really liked Greek food until I went to Greece. My favourite restaurant ( actually the only one I've visited on a number of occasions) is Diados at 19 Adrianou Street. I think I included it in my story about Athens. Have a great trip!
