My plan for 2022

I know it’s not New Year yet.

It’s quite simple really. My mental health is pretty good, but my physical health is not. In the last 6 months, my body has gone downhill fast. And it’s a vicious circle. I’ve not had good knees for many years, but aqua aerobics and walking netball have kept them functioning. In June this year, I had an attack of gout! If you’ve ever had gout, you’ll understand the pain.

Most people get gout in their feet or more commonly, big toe, but I got it in my knee. And I couldn’t walk! I couldn’t walk to the pool to do my aqua aerobics, I couldn’t play netball, so I scheduled a total knee replacement. But the birth of my first grandson became a priority and I postponed the operation. And postponed it again and again. Meanwhile without my normal physical activities, I started to gain weight which put extra pressure on my knees.

One day I wore socks with my scuffs and developed bursitis in my feet making walking even more difficult. My whole body was failing me!

In 2022, I’m going to focus on my body and getting it operational. The goal is to travel in 2023, but I need to get this body fit first.

Here’s the plan, in no particular order.

— Knee replacement.

— Lose weight.

— Aqua aerobics.

— Waking netball.

— Walk to Keeley’s. Don’t drive!!
