My method of discovering pearls was accidental. I went with my family on a 4 and a half month whistlestop tour round Europe to find the places that I wanted to come back to. I haven't chosen anywhere to spend a year though. That would be much more difficult, but I think it would be a village somewhere in Spain, France, Portugal or Italy.
