My First Crush
Topic 4 In Keeley’s original February challenge
I was 13 when I noticed a boy for the first time. He would have had no idea that I liked him in that way. His name was Kevin Moore and he was 10. I’ve always had a thing for younger men. I still do!
We went to the same swimming club on Friday nights and during winter, we went to the same”gym” for strength training. The gym as someone’s garage and the training revolved around lifting weights. I could lift 60 kg — wait, no — 60 lbs. We didn’t have kilograms until the early 70s.
The following year we moved to Townsville and I developed a crush on the new boy in class. He was English and had rosy red cheeks. I used to redden my cheeks with pink chalk. I have no idea why. My girlfriends used to ask me had I used rouge. That’s what blush was called in the 60s and I truthfully answered no.
No one knew until now when all secrets are revealed that I used pink chalk to colour my cheeks!
