My daughter and I ate paella once in the month we were in Andalusia. It was a bad mistake. We had been on a walking tour in Sevilla and we ( well, me actually) were starving and my feet were killing me. I wanted somewhere to sit to eat. The first place we saw was a restaurant on the square facing La Giralda. We broke one of our own rules- never eat in a tourist area. The paella was ok but grossly overpriced. To compensate for our error, we went to a paella cooking class. We learned to cook a three course meal including chicken paella and eat it all too while drinking delicious sangria and Spanish wine. The whole thing including the visit to the fresh food market, the cooking class and the eating of it was a fraction of the price of what we paid for the paella lunch at La Giralda. .
