My beloved Momo

Keeley intended to rescue about forty cats from behind her workplace. She caught two and brought them home… they were both feral cats. Nala — we gave her the name — was a grey-striped tabby similar in looks to Simba (and every other cat in the world it seems) and settled in reasonably well.

Mo (who later became affectionately Momo) did not. He hid underneath the stairs and refused to come out. I left food and water for him but he didn’t show his face. One morning as I’m on my way out the door to work, I hear him yowling. He had tried to escape and had ripped a hole in the insect screening and managed to get his head stuck in the security screen. I have no idea how it fitted through because there was no way it was coming out.

I just wanna sleep!

I called Jamie for assistance and went off to work. He used a hacksaw and managed to set him free. After that, he gradually came out from his hiding place and started to become more affectionate. We noticed he had a gammy paw on one of his hind legs but he could still hobble around. After a while, we even let him outside.
