Jemaa-al-Fna is one of those places that's hard to forget. The biggest crowds were gathering in the square so we chose to sit on the rooftop bar to watch the sunset and escape the crowd. It turned out it was Moroccan Independence Eve and everyone was celebrating. I didn't go close to the snake charmers, but I didn't feel unsafe at all. Your story brought back memories.
