I’ve Been Sitting in the Kitchen Writing

After a wonderful day out, I decided I’d come to the kitchen to write. Here’s the story I wrote…
If it seems a little discombobulated, it was because I was joined by Frances, a German girl, who gave me directions to Sainsbury’s and had grilled halloumi for dinner, and then Mike, a Canadian from Toronto who had some interesting travel tales and then two young girls from Chile, Caterina and Beatrice, who both spoke perfect German and are studying to be German teachers. Apparently there’s a big shortage of German teachers in Chile. Who knew?
It’s almost 9 pm and they’ve just left to go to their private rooms — well all except Frances who slept under me last night. Then I was joined by my Ukrainian friend who has been to Loch Lomond today! She walked an hour past the pickup point and then had to walk an hour back — I’m not the only one who makes mistakes…
