Internet shopping is not for me!
I’m a slow learner. A few years ago, I bought a beautiful dress from a Facebook ad. It arrived. It was beautiful. I had ordered a 3XL. (the largest size available) I thought if it’s too big I can have it taken in. I’m normally an XL. The only problem was it was too small. When I say too small, I mean tiny. It was too small to fit any woman even a tiny Chinese woman. Maybe it would fit a child!
A couple of years later I ordered a winter puffer jacket. Once again it was a 3XL and it was a Canadian company so my thinking was Canadians aren’t tiny so it would fit! Only problem was it came from China! And you guessed it, it wouldn’t go anywhere near fitting me. I’d even taken my measurements for this one. Once bitten, twice shy. I bought and paid for it through PayPal so when I got no response from the company, I approached PayPal. After weeks of haggling, I didn’t get a refund. The jacket supposedly was the measurements that they said! What a ripoff!
A couple of weeks ago I saw some fur-lined orthotic boots advertised on Facebook. Merrell was the brand emblazoned across the ad but nowhere on the boot. They were “half price” but by the time I added postage they were $81. I thought maybe because they were fur- lined they weren’t selling well in Australia.
They arrived yesterday. You guessed it. They were too small. At least four sizes too…
