…vast lakes dotted with bridges, nestling into the mountains that stretch as far as the eye can see. If you have the time and the inclination to explore this part of Austria some more, I would also recommend travelling one station forward, and spending a day at the spa town of Bad Ischl, which seems to have been frequented by Habsburg Emperor Franz Joseph l and his wife Empress Elisabeth.
