I was diagnosed with mild dissociative disorder when I was 50. It’s nothing like your friend describes. I’m just “ away with the fairies” occasionally (Keeley will tell you all the time) and I don’t hear what’s going on. I think of it as a superpower that’s allowed me to have six children and remain (mostly) sane. I can drive from A to B and not have any recollection of doing so. I’m off daydreaming in my own world. I just hope I haven’t driven through any red lights!
