What I am saying is that unless your travel agent has been to the destination several times, and has intimately gotten to know it outside of resort gates, they may not be the best person to provide a well-rounded picture of where you’re going.

I totally agree. A friend’s recent experience with a travel agent confirms this. He couldn’t even pronounce Edinburgh correctly! They did not use him to book their trip!
