I love the English villages too. Everything is so old and quaint. We have nothing like it in Australia either. Luckily we drive on the same side of the road but like you, I haven't driven a manual car since the 90s! Automatics are really hard to rent all over Europe! We stayed in a very old pub called the Rising Sun on the top of Cleeve Hill overlooking Cheltenham and the Cotswolds. Would much rather have stayed in one of those villages. Next time. Glad you enjoyed Stonehenge. I was wearing shorts and a t shirt the day we visited and the wind was freezing. We only got to see it from ouside the ring so I was disapponted.
