Money is security. It’s paying the bills. It keeps a roof over my head. It keeps gas in the car. It keeps me warm in winter and cool in summer. And it helps me be able to be a generous and giving friend, neighbor, and fellow human being. It enables me to help someone in need. It enables me to gift someone with a small something that brings joy to their life. It enables me to drop a $5 or $10 bill in the collection box to help the animal shelters. It enables me to hand a bill to a homeless person in need of a meal. It enables me to send a Starbucks gift card to a friend for a birthday. It enables me to fly to see my family. It enables me to give my children a few extra dollars when it’s time to buy school clothes.
