But if you ask anyone I know, they’ll tell you I’m a talker

Who’s the talker?

Of course it depends on the people I’m with. If I’m with Keeley, I’m a listener. Most of the time I don’t mind but occasionally, I have something to tell her and she won’t shut up long enough for me to tell her. And then when I do get a chance to speak, I’ve usually forgotten what it is that I was going to mention to her.

Sometimes I think she realises this. The other night just after I got home from a couple of hours of having dinner with her, she rang me. “What was your dream that you wanted to tell me about?”

I had a dream the previous night that I had actually remembered. I dream every night but if I don’t vocalise the dream or write it down by the time I come back from the loo, it’s dissipated from my memory. I’d remembered this one because it was so completely weird.

If I’m with girlfriends, I’m the talker. Only because they all want to know what’s going on in my life. They keep asking me questions. And I always have interesting or slightly funny stories to tell — well, they think they’re interesting.

If I’m on a coffee date with a new man, I usually end up being the listener because I ask the questions. I figure if they don’t ask me any questions about my life, they…
