I hated what the Christians did to the mosque.

Ultimately, nearly everyone who comes here likely agrees with Charles V: Bishop Alonso de Manrique, in his religious zeal, managed to take something elegant and rare and turn it into something gaudy and common.

I hated what the Christians did to the mosque. The “cathedral” is garishly gold while the mosque feels serene around it.
