I don’t think being a parent makes us any more or less empathetic. I don’t think I’m especially empathetic and I have six of them. Does each child add to your empathy or subtract from it? And I’ve never used the phrase “ as a mother” or “ as a parent” because I don’t think it gives me any special qualifications.
