Funny article by someone with a three syllable name as do I. What I can't understand is parents who call their children long names. In Australia, that's just begging them to be shortened. I tried really hard to name my kids with names that were difficult ( but not inpossible to shorten) and also hard to add -ee to. So Blair gets Blair, Liam gets Liam, Rowan sometimes gets Ro ( ugh) but Stacey, Keeley and Lexi already have that ee sound, but are sometimes shortened to Stace, Keelz and Lex. But I never burdened any of my children with three syllable names like mine. My middle name Elizabeth has four syllables so it's worse. All of the Elizabeths I know are called Liz. Wouldn't it have been easier if they'd been christened Liz?
