Fascinating story! I've never heard of it but I have heard of the BC ferries, the cheapest way to "cruise" to Alaska, according to a friend who did it and had a great trip. There are not many places left on earth like Haida Gwaii. Thanks for sharing. I doubt there'll be an influx of visitors next summer but who knows?
