I should have worn this on St Patrick’s Day! My photo

Subhi Najar tagged me. Because of my respect for him as an excellent writer, I’m giving this challenge a go.

1. What is your favourite book? and why? Oh, dear. My favourite today might not be my favourite tomorrow. I’m just rearranging the books on my bookshelves. Fiction is sorted alphabetically by author. Memoirs and autobiographies are sorted by country. I have lots of memoirs from China, Ireland, Scotland and Australia. Other nonfiction is sorted by topic or age level. ( I have a lot of books.) A story that I love so much that my original copy fell apart is Wild Swans: Three Daughters of China by Jung Chang. Have you read it? Why is it one of my favourites? Many reasons but one is it gives me an insight into what Chinese life was like in my lifetime. It just blows my mind that I didn’t know any of this as a teenager.

2. What is your favourite quote? and why? “Everything in moderation”. I think we can become obsessed with something so much it’s bad for our health. For example, I think it’s fine to have a glass of wine with my dinner, or a cup of coffee when I wake up. Even too much water can kill you. A little ice cream every day is okay, but don’t eat the whole carton! A few squares of chocolate won’t kill you but eating a whole block every day will make you so fat you won’t be able to fit through the door!
