This is the benchmark you must reach on Medium to start making money. I advised her not to expect too much too soon. Much to my surprise and happiness, she started making money — admittedly only cents straight away. And she’s been following her stats daily.
She noticed her most read stories and the ones that were earning her the most money were the simple ones where she’d answered another writer’s challenge. Brett Jenae Tomlin’s This or That Challenge and What Does Christmas Mean to You? are two that I recall.
She started thinking “why don’t I make my own writing challenge?”
I’ve been on Medium for 2 years and I’ve never thought of doing that. I’m always the follower in answering challenges and I will be that again because if I don’t write every day to answer her challenge questions, how am I going to encourage others to do so?
