Are You Scared AI Will Take Over the World?

To be completely truthful, I am a little. Especially in the world of writing. As an editor of Globetrotters, we have the task of sorting out real travel adventures from AI travel stories. One way we do this is by stipulating you must have your own photographs of your travels to that place.

Another way is questioning the stories where the language is too “flowery” which is difficult because some excellent writers do write beautiful stories. Then I compare that story with other stories they’ve written in the past to check out their style and “voice”. I can pretty much pick those of you who use AI to help with your challenge stories. You can probably tell from the shite I write that I don’t!

I’m not averse to your using AI to help you but I think you should declare that you’ve used AI to help with your response. Ok. I’ll get off my soapbox.

I don’t think AI will take over the world just yet. I just heard of a case yesterday where AI stuffed up and caused an accident. Braking was needed but gentle braking so as not to hit the car in front but also to give the car behind time to react. The automatic system hard braked consequently the following car rammed into my friend’s car at speed. So the accident was caused by the computer overreacting to a situation. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured. So AI in cars needs to be…
