An Attempt at A Poem about Roses
I love roses
yellow roses
fragrant roses
seems I can’t have both
store-bought are beautiful
but lack fragrance
homegrown are pretty
and smell so sweet
when cut and brought inside.
I had a rose garden
snatched away from me
unceremoniously.
I can buy myself roses
it’s just not the same
as growing them myself.
