A great story - well told. Do you realise you probably have an addictive personality as I do? My father was a compulsive gambler so even though he had a responsible well paid job, we had nothing as children. I’ve been aware of my tendency to become addicted easily so I never play the pokies nor buy lottery tickets. I only become addicted to things that don’t cost me money. Trivia, online scrabble, even candy crush at one stage. Of course I’m addicted to travel too. :-)
